Have any of you had any experience with this release ?
I was doing some looking online and I really like this one but with the MSRP being only $120 I am wondering if there would be any quality issues.

The Vapor is not a bad release. The thumb peg is rather large and when depressed moves the latch. They are directly connected so the latch does not need to be "cocked" and is not freely floating around. I liked this because the release is silent and does not have that clicking sound when fired. For the money its a good release. The thumb peg can also be rotated to a position of your liking. The Exxus is smaller and I liked that better than the Vapor but it costs like $75 more as you pointed out.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Justin Zarr uses the Vapor and likes it.

Exxus user here. Try and find a place to test one. If not, and you like thumb releases, just order it. It's a great release.

No problem. You usually can find some nice used ones for $140ish

Its a nice release. But you get what you pay for with thumb releases. The exxus is nice too but I think stanislawski makes the best thumb releases on the market.

I've shot the Tru-Fire Hardcore, Scott Exxus, Hot Shot Vapor and Hot Shot Tempest. Of those four I enjoy shooting the Vapor the most. It fits my hand better than the Exxus and I do enjoy not having to "cock" the release each time I shoot. Especially in hunting situations. The cocking mechanism on the Exxus was rather stiff and pretty tough to depress. After an hour or so of shooting it would start to bother my thumb as the "treads" on the lever are a bit aggressive.

Like a lot of people I assumed that b/c the price was higher that the Tempest and Exxus would somehow be "better" releases. I shot indoor 3-D this winter and used my Tempest for the first 1/2 of that. One day I picked up the Vapor for the heck of it and realized just how much better it felt in my hand so I switched back to that.

Point being don't just assume that because someone else likes a product or because it costs a certain amount of money that it's right for you. If possible pick up a few releases and shoot them all before deciding which you prefer. For the money I think the Vapor is a great release, but that's just my 2 cents.

I have the Vapor release and a wrist strap type release. I also tried a BT release. I like the feel of the Vapor release and it seems like I can anchor to exactly the same spot easier than the wrist strap style. The BT release was good and made me realize I wanted that type of hand position, but not the BT style. Thus got the Vapor release and so far using that as my primary release.

I have a vapor and while it sits on the shelf more often than not. I just shoot with my Tru-fire Hardcore wrist release much better. The vapor is a nice "hunting" thumb release. I like the quiet mechanism. Its fairly comfortable in the hand. I've had two and have had zero issues with either of them. They can be had used for $60 if you are patient.

With that said it doesn't compare to a release like the Stan SX3
