Ok... so I took a leap of faith when someone told me these 10" stabilizers really make a difference... I went from a 6" to a 10"... not used to looking at my bow with this large of a stabilizer. I hope to shoot it this afternoon to see if it was worth the hype.
I run an 8" bee stinger stabilizer with my Halon 6, I went from a 6" to an 8 " and it works just fine, I really didn't notice a difference, except the difference in weight was just 1/4 oz. I dont think it will make much of a difference, the only reason I got the 8 incher was because I like the graphics of the neon green and black. I don't think 10" is neccesary.
I have an 8" Bee Stinger and my dad has a 12". It definitely feels different if I use his, but I love mine and I think 8" is perfect for hunting. Hopefully the extra length improves your accuracy!
I have a 12" and an 8". I run the 8" for indoor 3D and spring turkeys and throw the 12" on for the fall. It doesn't have much of a difference inside of 30 yards but my 50-70 yard groups show the difference.
I ended up going with the 8" Bee Stinger up front and it seems to be good. I started with all 3 weights on the front but when I took on off, that's when it made the difference for me. I am also thinking about getting a 6" to go off the bottom of the riser.
I have to say that I am really liking this stabilizer. I have heard mixed things from many people about the effectiveness of a stabilizer. Many have said that there really is no difference until you get out to 10". I'm not sure how true that is, but I am starting to see a difference in my groups and follow through on the shot. Much better balance at full draw and upon release. I don't shoot crazy distances... I will practice out to 40 yards... that's about it. I don't shoot leagues or competition, but I do enjoy shooting and being effective at killing whatever comes in range This is a group from yesterday on my new Halon. It was 35 /36 yards...
Nice group! I KNOW stabilizers make a difference because I can't follow through without mine on. I tried shooting a group with it on, then without it, and the groups without the stabilizer were all over the place.
