I've used several different brands, some good and some not but for some reason I've settled on Vanetec's for the last few years. They just work well for me.
I have tried just about every vane out, I like to build arrows. Blazers with a helical still give me the best fixed blade flight. I just get bored with how they look so sometimes I use different vanes. This season I built some with 3" AAE vanes and some with 3" feathers.
I use four vanetec 3" super spines. Seem to work great and I'm shooting my best groups ever with them. If you use fixed blades I recommend vanetec swift vanes in the 2.88" size.
I love Blazer vanes for early season. However, hunting the late season (during the winter cold) using a whisker biscuit and Blazers is not a good combination. Until this year I always have used feathers and will be switching back because they are forgiving as they go through the rest. During the coldest temperature my bow shoots over a foot lower at 20 yards with the Blazers. Of course when everything is at room temperature and the rest is able flex with the vanes it shoots close to what the feather will do. The question I have is does anyone make the same size feathers as Blazer vanes?
