What are your preferences on stabilizers for hunting from a tree stand and not having to shoot over 40 yards?

I'm thinking I screwed up by getting the Bee Stinger Pro Hunter Maxx - 8"... Feel it is kind of overkill to have the round weights sticking 8" off my bow. Think the B Stinger Sport Hunter would fit my needs much better.

So, what do you use, and what do you prefer?

In all honesty an 8" stabilizer is pretty common for hunting. I just got a new bow setup this year and originally got the same stabilizer as you but then I decided to take it back and get the 6" one. I also have the Cobra quick disconnect which adds about an inch so total length is about 8" Most of my hunting is up in a tree as well So i'd look at the 6" one and get the disconnect. I got my from Draves archery. The disconnect is nice because you can rotate the stabilizer upward towards the site and then use it as a carry handle and nice for quick storage. 2015-03-30 10_37_12-BowTarget.jpg

I'm happy with the length, but I just feel the Pro Hunter Maxx is a bit of an overkill with the bigger round weights at the end.

Right now I am using a 10" Dead Center Dead Silent. It's pretty nice. I usually use 6" stabilizers but decided to give a longer one another try.

I'm using 10 inch dead center carbon with no weight out front. Seems to hold pretty good out to fifty so I'm not adding any weight for hunting.

I use an 8in B-Stinger Sport Hunter Xtreme on my rig. It has a b-stinger quick disconnect by the bows frame that adds about an inch and half to its overall length. image.jpg I also removed two of the 1oz weights from the end of the stabilizer and added a Limbsaver Freestyle Enhancer. image.jpg With the Spot Hogg Hogg Father sight extended to almost it's full length my stab setup offsets the sights weight very nicely. I also got an unexpected compliment today from the gentleman who sold me my NO Cam. Rodger at Schaffer Performance Archery picked up my rig and said it was balanced really well. All I need is to practice a lot more.

I looked up the Doinker 10 1/2inch field stab. It seems pretty nice.

I can get one for less than $40 because I won a drawing for a code that takes $50 off

I don't think you should pass that deal up.

At the moment I am shooting two I just made. One has an 8" bar plus the weights puts it just over 10" the other has a 12" bar and ends up just over 14". I have shot ALOT of different stabs the last three years. So far these are as good if not better than most I have purchased.

I just got rid of my stab. I found that my groups actually improved without it. Maybe it was wrong to begin with but the less stuff I have hanging on my bow the better.

That looks like a nice stab... Have heard good things from the research I've done.

I like mine so far. The 10 inch measures 10 3/4. Very good quality product. They don't look to shabby either.
