After putting 500 arrows through my impact I decided to write a review. Really liked everything about my energy 32. Just couldn't get used to the grip. Wanted to like that bow so much just couldn't shoot it as well as others.

Fit and finish: absolutely blown away by the finish in this bow. No stretching like the mossy oak finish on PSEs, no bubbling and very clear image of the optifade open country. On both of my camo elites the quiver mounts where white and the finish was not filled in there. Not a problem on the prime.

Grip: thought that I wouldn't really like the ultra fit rubber grip on the bow. I was happily surprised. I found that I can get a very consistent hand positioning with it in and off. Was still thin enough not to torque but for now I'm shooting off the riser with tennis tape.

Draw cycle: very smooth all the way to the wall. No big hump into the valley. Very comparable to my energy 35 and better than the energy 32. Truly feels like your drawing less weight.

Back wall: obviously any bow with dual limb stops is as solid as it gets. Solid as a rock and you can't get any more movement on the back end.

Valley: won't compare this to my elites since I have it set around 65% let off.

Post shot: absolutely dead in the hand. No vibration what so ever. Just sits in place. Doesn't roll forward or back just sits perfectly balanced on the hand.

Tuning: after pulling the strings and cables back and twisting them to spec under tension, the bow tuned perfectly. AtA and BH were perfect, and timing and can sync where dead on. After French tuning to get center shot the bow was shooting lights out. Bareshaft with fletched at 30 and perfect bullet holes through paper with bare and fletched shafts.

Speeds: at 72/28 with 20 grains of weight on the string and a 476 grain axis it shoot 274 through the chrono 3 times.

Overall: out of all the bows I've tried this year, this is easily my favorite. I urge more people to try prime bows.

Nice looking setup buddy. I loved my Centroid and wish i never would have sold it. If you think the Impact shoots good, just wait until you shoot the new Ion and Rival. They are awesome

I shot the rival and preferred the impact. Wanted some more mass weight and and preferred the PCX cams. And the extra valley and let off doesn't appeal to me. Like lower let off.

I haven't shot the ion, but really want to. It's a bit of a shorter ATA bow compared to the rival right? How did the two bows compare from one another?

Yeah the ion(31 AtA) is shorter than rival(35 AtA). It also has an inch longer brace And 10 FPS slower and the rival has .4 pounds on the ion.

I've got some tan, dark brown and black pin stripe, with tan serving strings coming. Took this photo after hunting today.[IMG]

Just did a very cool test. Shot my prime impact at 66 pounds 28 inch draw through paper. Used a 27 inch 400 spine bare shaft, 27 inch 340 spine fletched with 75 grain brass insert and a 300 spine 56 grain insert, all with bullet holes. Happened from distances of 3 feet to 15 feet and the bare shaft of all spines shot with fletched to 30 yards. Never had a bow this tolerant of spines.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

The aggressive helical is the 300 spine.

That happens when you have a good rest that guides the arrow and a correctly centershot bow. They become much more forgiving to spine. I've been trying to explain this for years.

That may be it. Couldn't do it with my faktor and smackdown pro but with my limbdriver micro elite I can.

I've done it with several of my hoyts. Lower poundage does help. The Qad rest guides the arrow well too,but not quite as long as the limb driver rest.

Put new strings on a couple weeks ago and they look great with the open country finish.[IMG]

Yeah I backed it off to 66 so it was in the middle of all spines I tested. I think that the very stiff launcher in the Smackdown combined with the longer support isn't as forgiving. The limbdriver has a blade like a spring steel.
