I am looking to get a new backpack and was looking for recommendations. Ive been looking at the ALPS OutdoorZ Pursuit, has anyone used it before?
Have a black Oakley day pack right now but I'm going to get a Tenzing TZ 1250. It's a great lumbar pack I'll use for spot and stalking. It's a bit pricey ($200.) but I know they are great quality. Check the Tenzing line out.
While I haven't got my hands on their pursuit pack, I own their big bear pack. It is by far my worst purchase this year in the way of hunting gear. It's like you tied a pillow case to a belt. It becomes flimsy under the slightest load, the belt not having any kind of stiffeners is half the problem the other is that there are not straps to transfer the load of the bag back to the belt or harness. Resulting it the load constantly pulling down and away and bouncing with every step. The material doesn't repel any water so when its wet its even worse. The pathfinder is a little better but because of the design it'll do the same. Plus I've tried to contact them twice and have yet to here back. They have some very neat ideas as far as packs go but I doubt whoever designed the has ever carried any kind of load. Before that I just used a tactical pack and it work OK it was just loud and a little bigger than I needed. Being the type that lack good pack management, I needed a smaller pack so I could only take what I need. I bought an east on outfitters the hinsch on clearance and I love this pack. Carries what I need and is very comfortable with a frame to keep the load secure and it keeps me honest . Be carful getting a bigger pack than you need because you will fill it. I learned to take what I need put it in a pile and then find the pack. Just my 2 cents , good luck.
I just bought a game plan pack this year and really like it. It's the one that you can strap you rattling antlers to.
I have the Pursuit and absolutely love it. It carries my Mathews Monster as well as my CVA Optima perfectly. More than enough room for what I carry also.
I have had a Cabela's Scout Hunting pack for over 5 years now and its still in as good of condition as when I bought it. I really like it because its big enough to hold everything I need, but not too bulky. I also really like the ability to cinch my extra layers on the back so I don't have to carry them to my stand. Go check it out
I use the Badlands Treestand Pack and love it! The front pocket folds down as a makeshift shelf for your calls, water, phone etc. The zipper's are really quiet and still work very well. Best pack for the stand IMO
Eberlestock RMEF pack, they are made here in Boise so I had to go with that. I'm not crazy about how it carries my bow but other than I like it
