Im looking at buying a new climber in the 250 price range. i was looking at the summit open shot has anyone had any experience with it? I like it for how compact it is and is set up like a hang on stand.

I been using mine for 2 seasons now and it is an awesome set up. Packs up super fast and is comfortable for those two mile walk in's to the back 40. The platform takes a little getting used too, but once you figure your personal set-up out, it is sweet.

For a light, quick to set up climber it's great. Obviously most guys don't like not having a rail, but it doesn't bother me. Best climber I've ever had.

I have a summit goliath and it is the most comfortable stand I've ever owned. I've heard good reviews about all the summits

Very Light, Semi Quiet, But this Climber is the reason why I can go about a mile in the woods. It's just a trip when you're climbing because it's open, but thats why I have a harness :) don't leave home without one!

been using my open shot for about 5 seasons now, I tried my buddies viper with and without the rail before buying this one.
did not like the rail for fear of bow contact on the shot,
nor how low and comfortable the sling style seat was, it seemed too hard to stand easily from that low, and way too easy to doze off in.
the open shot seat is comfortable enuf yet not so easy to sleep in.

coming off old TSS "hug the tree" climbers with seat off the base, the openess just seems natural to me.
I'm not going anywhere harnessed to the tree !
