I have some of their antiperspirant. Does the trick with no scent. I am sure their products are comparable with the other products. I mix and match. Usually try to get a good deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i've used Dead Down Wind exclusively for the last few seasons, the laundry soap & dryer sheets, body/hair wash, anti perspirant and of course the feild spray. haven't had a deer "blow" at me since DDW works !
I have nothing but good things to say about Dead Down Wind. They make some quality scent control stuff in my opinion.
not a fan of their dryer sheets...they don't do a good job on static cling prevention at all. I used Hunter's Specialties Scent-A-Way Odor Control Dryer Sheets previously and really liked those. No issues w/ anything else DDW makes.
I use detergent, dryer sheets and scent killer spray. I really love those 3. I use a scent tote as well after I wash my clothes
Agree with Noodles, same here except I also use scent away spray earth scent. I love the smell of that stuff myself, sometimes I spray it on my hat just out of general principle.
Dead Down Wind is all I use. Their detergent for my hunting clothes, pack and gear that can be washed, the deodorant (Works Really Well), Field Spray, Bodywash and Mouth spray. I also use Scent Away dryer sheets because I like the fresh earth smell. But, Dead Down Wind works really well. You will never get rid of all human odor, you just do your best to eliminate as much as possible. Remember, it is a process. You can't solely depend on just the field spray. All the products work in tandem. Like layering your clothes for cold weather hunts. They all serve a purpose A great way to test it is. Take a wash cloth and wash it in their detergent. Dry. Then mix some vinegar and water in a cup and pour it on the rag. Just enough so it is wet, not dripping. Smell the wash cloth. Then take the Dead Down Wind Spray and spray the wash cloth as if you are spraying it down to go hunting. Give it about a few seconds say 15 and smell it. I do this with any Scent eliminating product I have used.
I keep last seasons 1/2 empty bottle stuck in the truck door pocket, works great for gas on the hands when refilling my cans for the lawnmower and ATV. a quick shot of DDW rubbed in and no more gas smells ! I also give my cloth truck seats a good spray down right before and during the season
Static cling control is really important to me since the majority of my hunting clothes are some sort of fleece. DDW dryer sheets were horrible at static control. They do a GREAT job at scent control though...I left a load of regular clothes too long in the washer and they were nasty. I figured "what the heck" and ran them through the dryer w/ 2 DDW dryer sheets. They came out smelling completely neutral - just all stuck together, lol.
Other than what has already been mentioned, I use an airtight box to store my hunting gear in, with the belief that it prevents any further scent contamination. Used DDW for 3 seasons and never been "busted". Use the wind in your favor always.
I have used DDW for the past 2 seasons. And it is all I will use now. I like the field spray, deodorant, shampoo and body wash, and detergent. I have had many deer come within 20 yards or less, in unfavorable winds, without getting busted by any of them.
I switched to all DDW scent control last year. I've never looked into the actual ingredients but I believe their "fermented vegetable...." product listed in the label is a type of cyclodextrin (febreeze uses cyclodextrins). Cyclodextrins are carbohydrate structures that are shaped like a cone. They're hydrophyllic on one side and hydrophobic on the other, so the "stink" gets trapped inside the structure and stays there until you wash the material--which reversed the process.
Only scent killing products I will use... Granted I only use the spray, deodorant, detergent, and just recently got the boot powder. Because of time constraints I do not shower before hitting the stand.
DDW is all I use and is all I have ever used, haven't had a problem yet! If it's not broken don't fix it, will probably never switch
