We normally hunt with ladder stands and in recent years have mainly purchased and used Big Game stands in the 20ft models with the double rail ladders. We really liked the old flex-core seats but now have changed to a mesh seat. The double rail ladders are now back to single rail albeit tubular instead of box rails. Platforms are smaller than the older ones. Alas it seems that when we find something we like that within a year or so it changes and sometimes I don't like the changes. What I like or need in a bow set up is a stand that is quiet, stable, has a nice platform, good comfy seat that flips up and a stand that sits close to the tree. I don't like a stand that seems to stick out 3 - 4 feet away from the tree. I have been looking at mellenium and a couple of other manufacturers for a good 20ft ladder alternative. Any thoughts.
I use Millenium stands and they are really nice. Like you said, some others stick out to far. Though Millenium stands are more expensive, they are VERY comfortable and are great for bowhunting.
How about this? That first one is the one I would buy, I have never complained about having too much space on a ladderstand, the skinny ones are a pain
Thanks for the responses and help. I wouldn't be in the market for a tree stand if it wasn't for unsavory folks receiving a five finger discount as my expense.
I normally get these. It is not as tall but they are comfortable the the platform has a lot of room and goes all the way back to the tree. Big Game Treestands Nex Gen Stealth™ Ladderstand : Cabela's And they are not too expensive either.
