Well everyone we had some pretty good dialogue regarding the ozonics system in some previous posts, and as per my reply I promised to give everyone an update and review on the ozonic system I purchased. Well here are the facts as of now. Cost was 399.00$ Got it home followed directions which were pretty simple. Simply pull the shipping tape off of the battery, place in charger plug it in, done. Charged for 5 hours green light indicated fully charged. Not so much! Keep the cameras rolling cause it gets good. So try turn it on, will not work. Got nothing, zero. Took the unit back to store, they give me a replacement. Take new unit home follow same directions, and NOTHING. Called Ozonics and this is what they say. ALL of the rev.4 batteries sold with the new units are bad. Umm so whats the fix I ask? They say that they are simply sending out replacements to the end user. So I call the store I bought it from and they say that they had no clue! So there it is as of now. Just the facts
How long till they get you new batteries? Do you have to ship back the defective batteries to get new ones?
Get one of these: Zap Odors Gone - All natural, effective deodorization They make 3 sizes. The best $ I ever spent on bowhunting. I posted on this thread. http://forums.bowhunting.com/bowhunting-talk/63836-descent-your-boots.html
I bought one late last season, it came with two batteries and now I know why one never seemed to hold a charge. I never did see any down wind deer, or any deer for that matter, but it was tough public hunting here last year so I didn't get to see if it truly works. I do plan to use it again this season and see if I got RIPPED OFF or not On a lighter note I HAVE been enjoying my Arizona beachfront property this summer...........
I saw an ad on the internet the other day for a product called "poo pouri" supposed to cover bathroom odors. Just spray in your toilet bowl and when your astronaut splashes down no smell. Maybe something like that will work for hunters. If it is on the internet it has to be true and work!
Just all seems too good to be true... I am very skeptical and until enough "normal" unsponsored hunters can attest to it's effectiveness, I can't seem to justify spending that kind of money on it if it truly is a gimmick
Yep I've got to send back the defective batteries after the new ones show up. So I will keep y'all posted when they get in. I've got some really tough winds to deal with in one of my spots, of which I am very familiar with how the deer react to scent down in this particular draw, so I'm not gonna say that I will 100% know if it will truly work, but I will defiantly know if something different is going on with scent control.
Does it Work? Ozone Scent Control vs. Drug-Sniffing Dog | Field & Stream I've heard nothing but great things. If you can add a tool that would/could help you to fool a mature deer's nose, even for some extra time, I am all about it. Minimizing chances for failure. I will be trying one out this fall.
Not a believer but have heard good things about it. Wired to Hunt had a podcast with Donnie Vincent and all three of the guys had great success with it. I think it would be better in a ground blind than in the treestand. Blind or boxes would contain your scent and allow the ozonics to convert the molecules.
I have some glow stick fuel for sale. $1.99 a gallon! Anyone??? Seriously thanks for the review. Although not much of a review since it didn't work. It makes me even more hesitant to spend $399 on something like that. You'd think a company could at least send an e-mail to their dealers and let them know. Oh wait, it's like recalls on autos. Cheaper to fix later rather than fix when you find the problem.
Got the batteries on time as per Ozonics. My first test was the sun room where our doberman puppy is being house trained. Well she decided to leave a hot steamy test for the Ozonics. I simply turned it on and put in the sun room. Waited about 10 min came back and I can promise you the smell was gone. I'm blown away. So I shut it off take it out and wait an hour clean up the steamer. There is a very, and I say very noticeable smell the Ozone makes, but I can say without a doubt it does sterilize and scent particles.
Thanks for the tip I just got mine and tested it out at work back in the bathroom in the shop, it works well. I plan on using it in the tent I set up for hunting season
