Do thermacells really work?

    What do you guys use to repel mosquitoes in early season? What are your thoughts on thermacells? Give me your best tip for mosquito repellent.

    Thermocell:nana:

    I often hunt in shorts and a tee-shirt in early season. I would leave my bow before my T-cell.

    Thermacell is the best device on the market for hunters to keep mosquitos away while hunting. Use it one time and you will see.

    I never doubted there effectiveness but I've always shrugged it off due to the lack of usage. That all changed this year when spending a half hour hanging a stand and coming back with bites all over. The same thing happened when checking a camera, so I will probably be getting one this year.

    I went on a bear hunt in ontario, started out not using, cover in bugs, flip it on and in seconds they are gone. amazing little invention

    Yep. They sure do. Whether or not they are truly scentless is the question...not whether or not they keeps bugs away.

    I use ozonics. The ozone masks me 100% so there is no need for both. :tu:

    I just got one. My son was out shooting yesterday and he was surrounded by about 6 horseflies. I told him to go get my Thermacell and try it out. He turned it on and the horseflies were gone! Not only good for mosquitos but horseflies too!
