Hey guys I'm thinking about hunting some public land this coming year, so I dont want to hang a stand and leave it up all year in case it isn't there when I get there :( What kind of climbers work really good? Any suggestions? If I have it right, you just carry the stand out with you, get in it, and climb up and your hunting right? If there any safety precautions so you don't fall out of the tree?

    Thanks in advance!

Summit viper SD. Very light, quick to setup and extremely quiet. Very comfy as well. Love mine.

Most of the climbing stands work of the counter balance design. They all come with safety instructions and safety harnesses.
Generally the only way to make one stand lighter than another is to take something away. Making the stand smaller as an example will make it lighter but less comfortable. Same with a seat.
It really depends on a whole lot of things. AGE, strength, coordination, how far to be carried, how often, what comfort level are you looking for. We don't have enough information at this time to tell you what you need.

I may have decided against a climber and might get the assault 2 instead.
