I really like the concept of a hook style release and I love Trufire as a company (partially because they are made in my hometown) I had shot the hard core at a local proshop and upon release the hook sometimes catches the corner of my mouth and stings a little bit. I have also shot the beast from truball and don't mind it but it doesn't feel as comfortable in my hand as a trufire does. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or know know what's going on.

If the release hook is catching the corner of your mouth then your anchor point is way to high for proper form....As far as the release, I've seen a few of the Hardcores come apart and derail a bow "not to mention half the release flying into the cables, riser, rest, sights"....I'm a Carter guy, IMHO the Carter RX1 is the best wrist strap release made today.

I shot that and then shot the spot hogg wise guy. Ended up buying the wise guy. But I didn't have that issue. I don't shoot with a kisser either.

I have the hardcore and after 200+ shots, have not have any problems. I used a Spot Hogg when I was first getting into shooting and like both, primarily the hook style. I picked the hardcore up from Amazon and it was $20 cheaper than the Spot Hogg.

Most of the Hardcores seem to he solid ... Just keep an eye on them, guy brought a detailed Bowteh D340 in once and his string & cables were destroyed... His Hardcore came apart at full draw, release pulled in half, head flew off and smashed through the cables jerking them off the cam tracks... It was a mess, needed new strings and some work.
