I currently shoot an original Monster (the predecesor to the MR6) and love it. I did change from 70# limbs to 60# due to some shoulder issues, but, it shoots exactly the same 265fps with a 482 grain arrow at 28" draw length.
I shoot an MR8 and it works really well, not the MR6 but same series at least. The draw cycle is pretty smooth I think and it shoots pretty quietly!
Owned an M6 and now an MR7 and a Chill'r. Great " top of the food chain" bow IMO. Short 6'' brace height on the MR6 if your not used to it. BTW. My Chill'r only shoots 6 FPS faster than my MR7:-/ But much lighter.
Love my MR6! Only downside is its a bit heavy...was really hoping they would make an MR6 Heli lol. But they went the other way and got rid of it all together. Oh well, for me I think its one of the best bows made.
Like what cmonsta said the MRs are a bit on the heavy side but they will flat out sling an arrow. Definitely a good bow. If you are new to archery or just starting again it might be better to look at the MR7 or MR8. The MR6 shoots fine but a little more brace helps sometimes.
I've got an MR6 - awesome bow!! RH, 60#, camo riser with black limbs, 5 pin black gold vengeance, trophy taker smack-down pro, mathews quiver and yes, purple peep site with purple and yellow strings.... I've got some shoulder issues so I'm pretty picky on the draw cycle - long story short, I love it.... The VAP V1's I'm shooting out of it hit the target like a hammer.... As mentioned by others, it is a litter heavier, that would be one downside.... Feel free to ask me any specific questions....
I just bought a New MR6 that has never been setup, my draw length is 26 and it is a 50lbs bow. I was going to use it for Target Archery, and keep my HeliM for Hunting. I just saw this bow and it was a great deal. Just wanted to see what people's experience is with this bow. I am pretty experienced shooter, so I thought it was a great investment.
IMO...You did really good. I would hunt with it and leave the heli in the truck as a backup. Rock Solid Bow..both of em.
Peep and kisser, nothing fancy. My over all set up is boring, just a beast of a bow, tough as nails arrows, and a good QAD drop away. I love my bow. Want to fancy it up though, will over time.
I was flabbergasted (<== Always wanted to use this word) when I found out it was brand new never been fired, still has the string seperator in it. Like I said I don't like to carry a heavy bow hunting and the HeliM is a super smooth bow IMHO. My bow collection will always be only a select few bows, even if they are old (new may not necessarilly mean better). Now if they make a cross between the HeliM and the MR5, consider it purchased LOL. With that said, I will probably hunt with my MR6, depending on the situation. Thank you everyone for all your input.
