G5 strikers have worked great for me in the past. I shot my buck last fall with a Slick Trick magnum 100 grain and was happy with the results.

I'm a big fan of the standard 100gr Muzzy 3 blade, but thinking of trying their COC blade the Phantom.

I'm still a big fan of the old bear broadhead with bleeder...had to start using an older model muzzy that was similiar - I shot 90 percent of my bowkills with these including a turkey and the other 10 percent was with various expanding heads I was trying out. I have to say I like the whistling sound ending with a thwack that says I got em and haven't had a deer duck one yet(though I have just straight up missed low and high).

I like American Broadhead Company Sonic's in the 100 grain, when I used a crossbow It was 125 grain Hypershocks. Never had a deer travel more than 50 ft using those.....

Now if you want to try a variety of them...Wal-Mart have all their broadheads on clearence and the Blood Runners and Rages at 25% off.

D-icks have all of their deer scent Buck Bombs, Scrape making deer lures, and deer calls on sale at 60% off . All of their scent away products at 70% off. As well as their "none top of the line" broadheads at 20% off.

And the Hunter Safety system at 25% off. With all their Winter and fall hunting clothing at half price and 60% off.

That's here in Virginia any way I'm going to pick up those buck bombs...@ $2.50 a buck bomb have a 3 year shelf life .

I've never shot a broadhead that I felt didn't perform well, fixed or mechanical. I see the benefits of both but if I had to choose one over all others it would be the standard 100 grn spitfires. Others I like are rage 2 blade, wasp jak hammers, montecs, slick trick magnums.

There are so many good broadheads out there today. Tolerances are much better than the past and broadheads are much more consistant.
I shoot Slick Tricks a bunch but my choice of broadhead above all others would have to be the German Kinetics! Unbelievably Super head!

Have shot Thunderheads in the past....Grim Reapers this year...and thinking of trying Slicks this next year, I'm really starting to think like JZ on the whole fixed blade idea.

The one thing that I have found about broadheads is that....................................................

    A FIXED BLADE ALWAYS OPENS!

Many will disagree with me but I have never had a rage 2 or 3 blade fail me, and they leave some ungodly blood trails. well actually most of the time you don't even need to follow the blood trail because the animal is in sight.

I've shot the g5 montecs the last 3 years and have shot 3 deer all complete pass thru. All dropped 100yds or less. They fly great.

I shoot standard slick ticks. This year I might try the new slick trick.

I am shooting the 2 blade 100 grain rage. Have taken 2 deer with these and both complete pass through. The blood trails were awesome. But you will need to buy replacement orings and some back up blades. They do get banged up easy. But they do exactly what they are suppose to do. Thats to make huge entrance and exit wounds and tear everything up on the way.

I shot rages for a bit and liked them other than having to replace orings and them not staying closed. I took a new oring and went to my local hardware matched it up and payed like 9cents and oring that fit perfect. The orings i bought from the hardware store were a little harder and held the blades closed alot better.
I shot wasp jackhammer sst 1 3/4 3 blades this year. I loved them they left huge enterance holes and my one doe left one hell of a blood trail to follow. The buck I shot didnt leave any blood till the last 10 yards or so. I shot him at a steap angle and didnt get a passthrough same as the doe. I hit the opposite sholder blade on both deer. The 5 pt ran about 60 yards and piled up, the doe ran about 100 and fell behind my neighbors garage right at his back door.
This year im going to try nap hellrazors (see if i can get passthroughs), and the new nap killzone. The killzone really intreagued me because of the similarities to the rage but is so much better of a design. (no orings or independant blades.)

I try different broadheads from time to time but I always come back to the spitfire maxx.
