Im thinking about smoking my camo this year and was wondering how long after you smoke your clothes is it until you have to do it again ??
I do it late season only and do it every sit. I just light a fire in the driveway and stand in the smoke

yea I've heard of old timers doing this. also heard it works but idk or see how since animals stay away from campers and campfires
I will tell you this from working fire for years. Typically we go out for 14 shifts, there are no laundry facilities. My nomex shirts and Kevlar pant get worn 14 days in a row, one would think that they would reek like BO but smoke makes the clothes smell well like smoke not BO. I have also smoked up my camo for hunting and it works I just prefer to go the scent free and ozone treatment route.
So I looked into it, and read a lot about it and for $40.90 cents shipped, Why not. I have spent money on other stuff before and if it does what people claim it does just another weapon in the arsonel. Beefie
Well I ordered it on the 21st and the mailman just dropped it off, standard shipping. That's fast, now I just wish I had some chips to put in it to try it out. If I go to the store what am I looking for, standard smoking chips? Hicory, apple? Beefie
It was a standard hunting tactic for Native Americans. Really all the process does is deposit activated charcoal on your clothes.
I've been doing it for the last 8 years or so. I have taken my best bucks to date since I started smoking
Sorry I didn't see this post til now, I use mostly hickory chips and will also add some pine needles and even a pine cone now and then. The pine will create some creosote in the smoker that you may have to burn out to clean up once in a while.
