Wanna try something a little different? This thing is a blast to hunt fish with. You can buy these but there pretty pricy IMO without the reel and rest so after looking at them and being part of my job involves some fabrication I decided hey I can build that. I did buy the bands pre made with the mini Bow string but made my own larger D loop with silicone tubing, they equal 40 lbs. got them from falcon sling bow websight. The frame is made from 5/16 steel rod (DO NOT USE DRILL ROD) Its very hard and will bend with heat but is very brittle and will break. You can buy Bowfishing whisker bisqutes but I decided to machine a roller rest out of Nylon stock. Mine adjust up and down. I learned how to do a Cobra weave on you tube and wove mine over leather strap for the arm sling.
Handle is 3/4" X 7"X 1/4" flat steel. I found an old foam handle from a portable halogen light handle. I cut a 3/4" dowel in half and slid between flat steel and foam on palm side. The Bow and rest are attached with a stainless 5/16 allen bolt and are adjusted at a cant. Your hand cants naturally when drawn putting Bow arms level. Drill and tap a 5/16-24 hole in handle for reel seat. sling arms are 10" long from handle to where sling mounts with button head screws. arm total width is 16".

I didn't think you would lol I appreciate you letting me use it. I may have to make a trip down so you can try and get me on some fish. I'm looking at getting my own setup soon.

The pictures are from Fitz. He took some pretty good ones that weekend. :tu:

How wide is the actual sling bow frame the band's attach to side to side. Arm brace is 10 in right. Been reserching these and they look fun. Been shooting recurve forever. Thanks - Z sorry for bringing up a dead post
