I'm starting to build a tree stand(elevated blind) that my 3 year old and i can sit in together with him being able to be more comfortable. Are these elevators worth the money? I'm only going to make the platform about 6 to 8 feet of off the ground. They seem like they could be worth it, but i'm always looking to find something cheaper that works as good. Let me know if you can help at all?

I have no first hand experience with them and they just look like brackets.

Why not just lag bolt the outside joist and the rim joist to the vertical posts?

I'm a carpenter and probably wouldn't buy them for me but seeing how you said that, then I say get'em. I like how they will hold the legs at slight angles for stability. and they seem reasonably priced.

I guess that if you aren't a builder, then they might make sense. I would just build something else especially since you're only going a few feet up.
