Thought I would share my blind that I built and put up on my food plot. So I built it in my garage and put it together on site. It took me 3 days from start to finish and it was only me (and my tractor). It's 6x6 and 10ft from the floor. Total cost of build was about $350 excluding the poles which I got for free. I put the poles 3ft in the ground. View attachment 65335
Nice. I did pretty much the same with my rifle stand 4x8 platform, 4x6 enclosed. Like having a little area to enter and exit without having to go straight onto a ladder. Legs are 10' 4x4 extended with 4' pressure treated bottoms making them 14' long angled out about 5 degrees creating a wider base. I didn't bury them so if I change my mind I can move it within a day, the stand is stabilized with cables run to nearby trees. I kept the weight down some by building the walls with 2x3". Make sure you put some type of carpet or material on the floor to dampen noise.
Nice work! I'll be making a Blind/treehouse in the next few years in preparation for the little guys hunting.
Carpet is in and I am just putting rest of the insulation in now then I'm putting up black bed sheets on all the walls and roof. I got a office chair on wheels and heater on. I also decided to add a min weather station
How tight is it sealed? Will it keep out all the mice and chipmunks? We tried insulating a couple of our early stands and the critters just loved that insulation.
I'm sure I sealed it up good. But to make sure when it's warm I will be putting gap sealer all around.
Be careful with carpet, if it gets wet and freezes it will be extremist crunchy with any movement for the rest of the season. Insulating the floor with some pink board or other foam insulation is the best money spent when building a blind aside from caulking or spray foam in all of the seams. Put another sheet of plywood over the foam board if you think critters will get at it. Looks good!
Looks pretty fantastic and I was thinking about doing something of the same on our land. What did you use for materials? Were you looking at doing anything special in regards to any insulation? Roofing?
Thank you every1. I shingled the roof and as for the rest it's just 2x4s and OSB except the floor which is 2x6. I just completed the inside and it has 2 layers of carpet and insulation on the roof and all Walls
