One of my dad's buddies asked me what weight broadhead I thought would be best for crossbow bolts. I told him that I honestly didn't know much about setting up a cross bow but could ask the fine people of this forum what they prefer.

So, what weight BH are shooting and why? 100gr, 125gr, 150gr, other?

I tried 170gr. NAP FOC's but had problems with early deployment. I settled with using slick trick magnums 125gr. on Easton FMJ'S I forget my total weight but it balanced out with enough weight up front to give me great groups out to 60yds. (never felt the need to shoot further). this article explains it pretty good. The Best Broadheads for Crossbow Hunting | Outdoor Life

I went with 150gr bolt cutters for my fathers after reading up on heavier heads for bolts being more accurate. He has a ghost 385 so, was not overly concerned about speed / weight.
