I've shot the barnetts and I love them! I would recommend to go to your local archery shop and test out all of them and see which ones you like the best.
Excalibur is a great shooter. also look at Horton seeing that they are produced by Ten point. Great quality and poss. the quietest xbow on the market.
It's just like compound bows. There are many makes and models. Most of the big names have worked most of the bugs out. I have a Stryker by Bowtech who is partnered with Excalibur now. I love the thing. It's super quiet and light for what it is and it got me through a rough patch with my shoulder. I would recommend the Stryker to anyone. The new model "Katana" is a morph of Excalibur and Stryker parts if I'm not mistaken. It also has a sweet trigger
Quiet and crossbow shouldn't be used in the same sentence, I don't think there is a such thing. Even if your CB is "quieter" than most, the odds of a second shot are slim to none. Make the first shot count.
Stryker is one of the fastest, flatest and hard hitting crossbows made. I been using them for 8 years. You can see mine in my avatar.
I have a 10 point I just bought used, it's almost 10years old now but was in mint condition and shoots great ! Here's my first 3 shots at 50 yes.... Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I will tell you that I use my compound 99.9% of the time, but I love my cross bow. But I managed to hurt my shoulder just before the rut, and if it were not for my cross bow I would have missed out on my biggest buck yet! I suggest parker crossbows if you decide to get one.
Have a TenPoint Titan Extreme and a Mission MXB 320. G'kids use them now. Great bows....no, awesome bows. I shoot traditional now but will pull out one of them to hog hunt with sometimes. Won't have a compound again, but I will always have my backup crossbows.
2 years ago I bought an end of the model Barnett predator and I absolutely love it. The dependability of it pressuaded me to buy another Barnett. This time I bought the butt backwards Barnett revengence. Shot my buddies for a couple days and can't wait for mine to get here
