Been looking at these but before I pulled the trigger wanted to see if any one had any experience with them. Comments?

Don't have any experience with the muddy one but I've had a redneck bale blind for 2 or 3 yeas and really liked it. Cover on mine was actual straw and will be replacing it this year, which is bout half the cost of new, but I'd set it out for about 5 months so could of probably lasted longer if not for that. Think the muddy is pretty similar to mine and only thing I would suggest is getting good stakes to tie it down. Same as every blind but the redneck only came with 2 stakes so had to make more. Other than that it worked really well, shot 3 deer out of it and they never really seemed to pay it much attention. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
I have 3 rednecks that I love. Also bought some muddy's in december. Have yet to assemble them but we'll start pretty soon.
There's wasn't in any of the fields I set mine, but there's usually round bales scattered around the farm I hunt so it's not a big change. I had deer bedded down right behind mine last fall so I don't think it spooked them at all. If it's something new for where your hunting though may take them little to get used to it but could try setting it out early. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
No, there doesn't need to be any bales anywhere in the area. We use them in sagebrush flats where there never has been a hay bale and they work well. Now, if you have a line of round bales put up... you can disappear :D
Good to know, for years wanted to get one but no fields around my hunt areas ever has them that I remember.
Thanks for all the feedback. I went with the muddy mainly for price. Its about 150 cheaper than the redneck and I can always throw straw on top of it. Unfortunately had not seen either to compare so went in blind. Figured it would be worth it as most upper end blinds are about the same price. I like the visibility from a tree stand but you can literally get away with murder in a ground blind it seems.
I have seen them on a DIY forum and hope to be making one up for this coming fall season. In contrast to a camo pop-up blind that has to be brushed in and the ever-present concern of them being stolen or blown away, the hay bale blind can be left out so the local game animals don't give it another thought. Everything I have seen and heard of them has been pretty positive. Let us know how the Muddy version works out for you.
