I'm curious as to how many people include different broadheads in their quiver and how many pack all matching arrows. In the past I've just packed all matching arrows but this year I'm thinking of mixing things up with a couple different broadheads and maybe a small game tip or two.
All 5 are the same. Anything I come across I'll want to shoot can get the same BH to include deer, turkey, yote, big kitty, bear, fox, pig etc.
I use all the same because I can't fit Muzzy turkey broadheads in my quiver. I usually carry them with me in the spring & ust use regular fixed heads in the fall. If I get a shot at a turkey in the fall, I'll try for a butt shot with the Hellrazers I am trying.
I pack all the same arrows/broadheads in my trophy ridge quiver. If I'm in a tree I'm going after deer so I wouldn't want to risk shooting a squirrel or turkey and risk causing any unnecessary ruckus.
I carry 5 of the same. I don't know if you can have anything smaller then regulation cutting diameter in Minnesota when hunting big game.
Last year I had Montec and Rage. This year, will do the same. I did buy a bunch of cheaper broadheads for rodent problems at the house...so I am not shooting my good ones! I like the rage when I am on stand and the Montecs when walking around.
I've also heard of hunters including one mechanical with their fixed heads for a long range follow up if needed.
I keep all 5 arrows the same. They're are tipped with 4 of the same BH and 1 G5 SGH for the occasional annoying squirrel that crosses the line. Shoot one word will spread!
I carry 3 NAP Killzones and 2 NAP Slingblades. My reasoning is that I can use the Slingblades on varmits, if I decide to shoot something like that. And of course if I'm having a bad day and burn through my 3 kill zones then I have a decent back up.
I've been known to have a quiver with a few different broadheads in it - Killzones, Spitfire Maxx or Spitfire XXX. They all fly the same for me so I'll grab a different arrow on each hunt and let fate take it's course.
Might carry a small game blunt in my pack but every arrow in my quiver has the same broadhead set to kill big game. Used to carry a variety but twice had to reach for an arrow without moving my head to look and both times came up with the wrong arrow. both times cost me a buck, one of them the biggest buck I've been in front of. never again.
Same here. I look at it this way, if you can't kill your deer with 3 arrows you should be back home shooting at a target.
