He? She? It? -Velvet Buck

    So we have this buck on one of our properties here in MN. The first picture we got of him was October 26. When we first saw the picture we thought his rack looked different but couldn't say for sure that the deer was still in velvet.

    He then disappeared through the hunting season and did not show up back on camera until Janurary 16. He was all busted up, missing one side and most of his tines.

    As of right now the most recent pics we have of him are from February 13. He is basically just sporting a main beam now and no tines.

    Im sharing this because I hope someone can shed some light on this... Is this deer healthy? Some people have told me that it is a doe? I have no idea whats up with this deer but hoping someone could help me out.

    Doesn't look like a doe to me. Probably some injury to be in velvet that late in the year though.

    Its definitely a buck, but I would guess it had a injury to its balls or they never dropped.
