OK guys...I get a nice buck on my little 40 acre farm every few years & usually take out management bucks & does, so I don't score too many. Before you watch, a couple things to know:

    1) the hunter I was filming got a little anxious when the doe bolted & he thinks he used the wrong pin

    2) the buck is alive and well as of January...Saw him running with 9 other bucks who were starting to lose antlers

Be nice. I've known this hunter forever & this was his first miss that I know of.

So, what's he score? ..Big 8 point mishap - YouTube

I was guessing just about the same...125-130...But he looked huge-er in person, after a couple days of seeing only youngsters!

I'm going to say high 120s. I think the camera angle looking down might make him look a bit smaller than 125. That's some nice mass. Got a kicker on the G2...Cool browtines- is that one side split?
Either way he very could be 140s next season. Nice buck.

Left brow was curled a bit, but not split. Both G2's were getting interesting, right with small split & left palmated a pinch. We usually don't see that till 4 yrs old around here, but he looks like heavy 3 yr old?

Great looking deer with lots of potential for sure. Glad he made it! I have to agree with the consensus here and say mid 20's....looks to me in the video that he was borderline pope. Beautiful buck that I'd bend the string on, for sure! Hopefully he blows up next year for ya though. Good luck with him!

He's got a nice deep chest but not much of a paunch. Still lanky. What's your general location? In Iowa that looks like a 2-3 year old; down south more like a 4-5 year old.

What part of the country is the buck from? His body looks his rack look bigger? I agree with the scores listed just curious.

125-130 (128 1/4), I shot one very similar two years ago with less carried mass that scored 126 3/4.

Lower Michigan, a little north of Lansing. They don't often get older than 3&1/2...Too many "hunters". But every few years I'll see one that reminds me what mature looks like. Last 10 years, I've seen more nice racks on small-ish bodies...Makes me wonder if our 4 yr olds just aren't as big as they used to be.

    I would say he was a 125ish 3 1/2 year old.

Those are 3 1/2-year-olds, with Michigan's decrease in hunters, we are starting to see bigger bucks.
