I was walking through a property that my dad and I have hunted for years and came across one of the strangest things I've found in the woods. I found some trees that looked like they had been cut and then couldn't find the tops of the trees and was extremely confused. I eventually stumbled upon this....what would you guys do about something like this?[IMG][IMG]

Looks like someone might be constructing a makeshift hunting camp/cabin. All I can think of.

That little hole in the middle. Looks like it might have been used for a fire.

I'm thinking you might have a few kids messing around in the woods building some type of shelter.

Are you the only ones with permission to be on the property. Check with the land owner to see if there are others with permission.

I called the guy we have to hunt with (unfortunately) and he hasn't been out there. Us 3 are the only ones allowed on the property.

Illegal immigrant camp? I am outside NYC and we have a huge problem with illegals putting up makeshift shelters wherever they think they can't be seen. Just the other day I went to a spot I hunt on an upscale private property and found two camps. Why liberals don't see illegal immigration as a problem is beyond me.

Add some 6 mil plastic and you have home sweet home. Looks like pretty good job. See them in national forest in Arkansas and they are method labs.. but not that clean when they leave.

Sounds like you may want to pack some heat when you do go back.

Could be a abandoned growers(marijuana) shack,or maybe illegal immigrants shelter, who knows.Either way id put up a trail cam in a hidden spot and then come back with a buddy along in a couple weeks.

Look at the bright side you now have a new hunting season, and you don't have to buy tags.

That's not kids- that's a pretty sophisticated frame. Could be some TEOTWAWKI fanatic just practicing; but I suspect that it's some sort of clandestine drug production...most likely a MJ drying house. Very likely a small field nearby or at least they're planning on it.

I would doubt they would be drying plants on land like that, the plants would be removed to be dried.

Setup a trail camera on a high branch or something. Could be interesting to watch this project unfold and then burn it to the ground :deadhorse:

    I think they're homesteading.
