Anyone have experience shooting these for long periods of time. I'm ordering one soon and can't decide if I like the 32 more or not. Also I've had hoyts the past few years. Any big difference when it comes to timing and tuning. I have a bow master press will I still be able to use that to make small adjustments on a halon? Leaning towards the 32 just because I had a carbon spyder 34 and don't want to go too short. Also is the draw length normally a half inch long? I read that on archery talk somewhere. Thanks for any help.

I struggled with the same issue. Didn't notice a difference between the two. I am 6'5" with a 30 in draw length. Originally thought I should get the 32, but my Heli-M was 30in axle to axle, so I went with the Halon 7. Very similar to what I was shoooting, but better!

I believe for the majority of shooters there isn't going to be a major difference between the original Halon and the Halon 32. Aside from being 2 inches longer there's a few minor tweaks in the way the bow is put together, but nothing that makes a huge difference. For me personally the biggest difference is the feeling of the bow at full draw. The difference in string angle, to me, makes a big difference in how comfortable I am at full draw and during the aiming & shooting process. I personally prefer the 32, however I shot the original Halon just fine.

As for tuning, I'm far from an expert and had zero problems tuning either one of my Halons. I can't imagine why a Bowmaster wouldn't work, although I personally wouldn't use one unless I was in a pinch. IMO the investment in a quality press like a Last Chance EZ press is worth it's weight in gold and should last a lifetime.

I can't say I've checked exact specs on draw length on either bow, however I did just build myself a draw board and plan on checking that shortly. Maybe someone else can chime in on their findings.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty sure I've been brain washed into buying a mathews from binge watching bowhunt or die for the past few months haha. But it was time for a new bow either way. I'm lucky enough to live 30 mins drive from lancaster archery so I'll be heading back to shoot them again soon and make my order. I'll most likely go with the 32.

I'll have to look into one of those presses. Thanks for the advice.

Head over to their shoot this weekend and give Todd a hard time. He's got a booth setup there and is running around filming interviews and whatnot.

I have the 32. I had to wait for that 7" brace height, but I love it. I sold my Hoyt Defiant and bought it.

I've shot both. I draw about 30 3/8" on my hunting bow and the string angle on the Halon 32 is a lot better for me specifically with my anchor point. I ordered a Halon 32 based on this, but I'm sure many guys that are drawing less than say 28" might like the original Halon better.

Picked her up today. Lancaster archery had them in Stock. Ended up getting the 32 6 60-70 and having it set on 65lb. [IMG]

Nice. That's the exact bow I ordered this weekend. Congrats!

The camos look good. But up close I didn't think they looked that great. Now I have to decide on a sight and quiver.

I sell both the hoyts and mathews. The main complaint i had on the original halon is that the ata was too short so I like the 32 a bit better. As far as cam systems, the Hoyts are the more tunable cam. Better shooters bow. Both are great bows though

The halon 32 is why better than the halon In my opinion it holds alot better on target for me and being 6'4 the string angle is perfect the halon seemed to be a little steep to me.
