The stone is powdercoated with a clear coat over it go to the mathews website it says there. But the stones do chip very easy and leave tacky looking white marks.the blacks are very durable powdercoat with no clear coat it's flat . I think the urethane clear coat weakens the stone powdercoating but those are just my thoughts I had 2 but sold them cause they were chip magnets.
