just curious guys.. how many here hunt during bow season, then pick up a rifle once gun season comes in? i havent used a rifle since i started bow hunting (with the exception of taking my girlfriend on her hunts). this is probably why i am on a two year dry run at the moment. anyway, just curious as to see what everyone does here. thanks.
I hunt muzzle loader and rifle when they come in still take the bow out depending on stand I'm hunting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bowhunting is definitely my passion. I don't have any gun stands or even a deer gun, but I don't usually pass up the chance to hunt with a friend at their place during fun season. Deer movement goes to about zero anyway once gun season is in full swing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is me too. I've only shot deer with my bow, never a gun. Starting to think my bow is my only good luck, so maybe I should just stick with it no matter the season.
I do every year it's the one time family all gets together at the cabin. We have a damn good time. Cook everyday at 11 am during the Wisconsin 9 day gun season. I don't mind killing a deer with a gun.
only bow hunt only own a 22 for the house in the event they forget where they live Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G530A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I hunt with both every year but, opening day of gun season is more of a tradition for me than a hobby.
I do both. I enjoy it for some change, but it doesn't ignite the same passion as bowhunting does. It's the only time of the year I really get to hunt a little with my dad, and for that, I'll never give that up.
I hunt most of regular archery with my compound and use my CB later in the season. I like the 20-30yrd game. No gun hunter here.
I bring out a rifle/shotgun/muzzeloader on certain properties. I shot the bigger of my two bucks this year with a rifle (at 15 yards go figure), but one property I hunt is bow only and I hunt that the majority of the time during the excessively long NY gun season. The property I hunt closer to home is a big wide open hardwoods and I can only hunt about 20 acres of the 400 acre block (which is constantly being pushed by the neighbors from the time gun season opens).
I gun hunt every three years when my dad, brother, and I get together to hunt. Otherwise, I am bow only.
Ive been bow only all my life... bought a tika 270 this year and shot a nice buck... will be doing both from now on!
