Topo Map Help

I have been reading and trying to decipher these topo maps. So my question, is this spot right by the arrow a saddle???

Yes it is. I love finding saddles and hunting them. I shot a great buck in the mountains this year on a saddle way up on the mountain.

 

Thanks I am new to this topo map thing. Here is a different topo map view. I have the + symbol on the saddle.

This is where I would start. Also I would look down all the ridge tops as well.

I would definitely start at the saddle that you have marked first.

 

Topo maps are great tools.
Your map even shows where the deer is going to run when you shoot it. See that steeper area NW of your marked saddle?
Everytime, all the way down.

Not to hi-jack the thread but i know you can customize maps as well will Elk migration, Antelope migration, etc. Do you guys do this or find it helpful or does it just clutter up the map? Is Topol still the best place for maps?
