Wondering if anyone has this set of Sitka? It's advertised as a walking sleeping bag and I sure could have used it today in WI. I had everything I owned on and was ice cold and struggled through 3 hours in a blind. Any advice is appreciated.

I would classify this as Manning up. I was cold, you might not have been but I was, so I am asking for advice. And if you are going to tell me to man up, try doing it with proper grammar.

If you're in a blind and/or have distance to walk, I'd get either a IWOM or Heater Body Suit and pack it in. That way you don't burn up walking in. Those Incinerators are HOT and once you have one on you're committed...think of how many times have you started out in the single digits or teens and it ends up in the upper 20s-30s? With the IWOM and HBS it's a little easier to layer effectively.

Better (much cheaper) option for a blind - get a small propane heater. They work awesome. Aim it at your shins and the blood circulation will warm your whole body. Also maybe look into a Milwaukee heated coat/vest.

Similar in concept/price to the HBS. I like the concept of the IWOM better b/c you don't have to zip out to shoot.

Down, is the best for insulation. The incinerator uses down, and is fantastic. It also has waterproofing on it so the down stays dry... once wet, it will lose all insulating properties. As far as I know, Sitka was the first to use down in a full hunting suit. Unlike a heater which you have to take off if walking, the incinerator is a suit.
I use mine in a tree stand, never walk in with it on as you will be too warm. Double guarantee from Sitka and Gore, I tore a seam in my crotch over a year after my purchase, they replaced it sight unseen.
No better option to beat the cold IMO.

    I use the Incinerator suit.
Great suit that works in the cold.
As mentioned above pack it in and out.
    Do not walk in it.

If this is the case, don't ever hunt in Alberta! Seriously, the HBS is probably the answer.

incinerator set is the finest piece of cold weather gear I've ever owned that allows some dexterity. I Find it more streamlined and warmer then The fanatic set. However all honesty for me it's way warmer than anything I have a need for unless I am hunting Canada.

I dare you to find better performing western hunting gear and cold weather gear. I don't have an option to bring a heater into my tree stand. If I was serious about hunting the late season ( and I will be when I buy my own farm) I will have two incinerator suits, one for me and one for my GF/Wife (whatever she is at the time ;) )

My only reservationaboutbSitka Gear is the second mortgage it takes to buy it. Clearly, it performs very well in the field.

I have a ridiculous amount of sitka gear....I love it all....worth every penny to me....I have a boat load into my bow my blinds my stands my land....why not invest in quality gear....20 degrees the other day and I was in my incinerator suit thinking about taking my jacket off in the blind....the stuff is insanely comfortable...fit and finish is great...and the most important part....it does exactly what it's supposed to
