My 2016 Droptine Buck Video It's taken me a while to put this together, but wanted to finally share a short film about my 2016 droptine buck. Not much for me to say here that isn't already in the video, so I'll just post a few pics and the link to the video as well. My 2016 Droptine Buck - YouTube I'm still learning a lot about filming and editing, and there are definitely a few things I would've liked to do differently on this one..........but I'm awfully happy to have finally taken my first buck on film. The fact that he's my personal best buck ever is just icing on the cake for me with this one. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I enjoyed making it!
I'm not going to lie, watching that deer after the shot was rough. But great buck and good job on the video.
I definitely had similar thoughts when editing and went back and forth on it a few times. I actually had a second version of the video edited that eliminated most of that footage. I've updated the original post with the revised video. Thanks for the thoughts and feedback!
I agree I don't film, or edit anything, but I wouldn't have included spined deer trying to move. Great deer congrats!
Awesome and congrats!!! I had my first ever drop tine on camera this year, but no sign of him since late September.
Congrat's again Matt nice buck. On a side note I showing what really happened in this kind of format I find fine and un-sugar coated per-say. It's not going to be a mainstream video and for me what really happened is the story.
Thanks Dan. That's kind of what I was going for when I decided to start filming. I hate the sugar coated and heavily censored footage you see so often, I really want what I capture and share to be as real as it gets. I was trying to walk the fine line on that and showing too much with this one. The first version was perhaps a bit too graphic, I think this version shows what really happened without going overboard.
Nice job, Matt. I know it's not as simple as moving to the Midwest, but man, I bet you don't miss it back East. Sent from my Turbo 2.
