Hey guys, got my biggest buck to date on 11/4 just after 8am. I owe a lot of credit to where its due but just wanted to say thanks. I've been on these forums for 2 years now and I have learned a TON of information that has made me a better hunter and archer. The last deer I let an arrow fly at was back in 2012 or 2013 and it was about a 140 inch buck that I made a really bad shot on and never recovered. It ate me up inside so much but I kept at it. I put in hours of practice shooting my bow. Questions on here for help on tuning etc. This public land spot I first started hunting last year is about a half mile walk in but I found that it was a good spot and then adjusted this year to put me in a better position to get a buck within range. Well it all came together and I made a perfect shot right above the heart behind the front shoulder. That is the most rewarding part about it is that I put in the work, the scouting, the practice, the time, you name it. I even got myself another lone wolf stick as I knew I needed to get higher in the tree as I don't like heights. (use my linemens belt and slowly got it done. )

I could go on and on but its all about the things you learn and then adjust. Practice at the range and putting in the time truly does pay off and its a good feeling when you get the window to make that 1 arrow fly and it hits the bullseye. I know its not a bruiser but it sure means a lot.

Congratulations. Any public land deer is a trophy in my opinion.

Nicely done Kurveball, the forum may have provided resources (and thats a great thing) but you were the one that had to put it into practice and have the dedication to do the things necessary for success. That's what makes it rewarding. Congrats on your accomplishment.
