My draw sting of my Bowtech Insanity broke early in bow season. I brought it to a new gun and bow shop to have all the stings replaced with zebra stings. I'm a lot smaller guy so I was shooting my bow comfortably at 61 pounds with the bow set as loose as it could go. When I returned to retrieve my bow still set all the way loose it was pulling back at 72 pounds. Also the limbs of the bow seemed to be under tension. What do y'all think is wrong because I can't use it at the increased poundage and still be comfortable and is it even safe to shoot. I have a good guess what's wrong but more opinions help.

That's what I was thinking. I'd ask if they put the correct string on for your bow.

Bring it back immediately and ask them to fix it right before permanent damage is done. Is this shop a certified dealer of your brand of bow? If so I'd contact them and let them know what happened.

Take a couple twists out of the cables and put a couple in the string. No big deal

I shoot the insanity cpxl & when I was talking to my "bowguy" he told me when it's time to replace my string to make sure & get a factory string or I'd loose like 10 FPS? Not sure on the specifics but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Not a chance. There's more to it. I just don't have any details. I should see him this afternoon & I'll see if I can get more info. I understand how it sounds fishy but he hasn't lead me a stray in 15 years.

Idk if it's just the new strings or how they have it set up but right now as the bow sits with these zebra strings I am shooting faster than any other bow I've ever seen shot. I am blowing through my target every single shot and no one else shooting it is.

Sounds like something the shop would have to do though.

Unless you have a bow press. if you do any kind of frequent shooting is about a necessity.
