Disregard? No. However I do believe they are a bit more opportunistic in the early stages of the rut and may not become completely nocturnal at the smell of human scent. It is still vital to control your scent at all costs and play the wind to your favor.
Old weary mature ones....will fight the urge to breed even at times if they feel threatened.....also seen one or two throw caution to the wind...
During the peak of the rut I seen a doe going along the edge of a field and a big buck following her just in the inside of the woods.. most big bucks stay smart when they can.
