Looks like a slightly differant riser and the same limbs and cams from last year. Even the same name except with "pro" in front of it. The defiant 30 is on my radar for next year so hopefully they still carry that as well and I don't have to pay more just because there's a pro in front of the name now.
Yeah nothing real exciting. I like the Defiants and almost bought a 50lb one before my Synergy. The deal breaker was needing special adapters for my press to press it that cost $220 from Last Chance Archery.
Nothing to oo and ah about, nice bows, Defiant was the bow I show most accurately, your right about the finger for the press, a deal breaker for me too, enjoyed the halon 6, a bit heavy for my taste, preferred the PSE at the end, speed and easier to tune.
I think Hoyts are nice bows...I like the speed they get out of their hybrid cam designs. I've owned a few last one being a Nitrum Turbo. What I didn't like is their spongy back wall, but I realize they may have fixed with the addition of a limb stop. For the money though Xpedition IMO makes a better limb stop hybrid that you can adjust for let-off and nice hunting valley. They make more speed, are more quiet and vibe free than any of the Hoyts I shot in the last 2 years.
The Hoyt Pro DEFIANT first look and first groups at 60 yards - YouTube $1900 Can. for a new top end hoyt is crazy when I feel the Elite is a far better shooting bow at nearly half the cost. Shot Hoyt for years thinking they were the best... until I shot an Elite.(Yes I did compare others including, Matthews, PSE, Bowtech, Prime, etc. and no UNFORTUNATELY, I do not work for Elite... I gotta work on that though!) T
Ugly...man they have the ugly market cornered again. Other then tuning them I haven't owned a hoyt in such a long time. I can't believe what they have morphed to... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
One of the reasons I chose Hoyt when I bought a bow two years ago. Hopefully, I will never need it but I hear the warranty and customer service is outstanding.
So other than Pro in the name and a slightly different riser and colors whats different? I like Hoyt bows but as other said was turned off at the 200 part to be able to press it. But this years release seems pretty weak over all. Any one else agree?
My opinion is that Mathews has the market cornered on ugly and has had for some time. Hoyts lineup release is a little weak this year but everyone's I've seen this year is like that. I guess everyone decided to take a year off from anything innovative.
I stopped at my LBS the other day and he said Prime is coming out with something totally differant for their hunting bows. Not sure when those get released though. He also said mathews is still going to carry their no cam series, but that's all he knew.
Same here and I already own two. Really like everything about their bows. Looking to at least get a Rival with the 82X riser.
