Coming down the tree tonight and the let down rope caught on a little piece of bark and stuck. As I maneuvered and jerked on it to get it loose the bow swung and hit the tree sight first. Guess we'll see how well Black Gold does with their warranty.

    Damn. That sucks.

I've got Black Gold sights myself. They always seem cool when I call them.

Let us know how it works out.

In my experience best warranty in the industry, bummer though

From what I have read and heard about their warranty I'm confident that it will get fixed with no charge to me outside of shipping. Problem is I was planning on hunting a lot of the weekend. So unless I can track down a loaner sight I'm kind of SOL. Little to no money in the budget for me to go buy something. Having a cheap sight laying around for circumstances such as this wouldn't be a bad idea I don't guess. Maybe I'll see if I can scrape something together and get something off Craigslist this afternoon.

That's a bummer. You can always just go to Wal-Mart, ****s, etc., and buy a cheapo $25 sight to get you through until yours is fixed. I just gave my backup sight to a guy setting up a bow for his daughter or I would offer it to you.

They have great warranty support and customer care. Timing sucks much though. Like remmet said you might be able to glue it or something to get by. Just be careful not to make it worse so the part Black Gold sends you still will work. Maybe duct tape and zip strips will work temporarily.

The part that broke I am fairly certain isn't user replaceable. It was the nylon/composite raise that the housing moves on that broke. I getting ready to call them right now. They just opened.

Call your local shop and see if they have an old sight they can let you borrow/rent.

Yeah, I was going to drop by there after work. One of the guys there has loaned me stabilizers before and is just a really cool guy so if he has something I am sure he would probably let me borrow it.

I just got back from the post office. Black Gold said that assuming USPS gets it to them by Tuesday then they should have it back to me by Friday. No questions asked.

Thank you so much for the offer. I really appreciate that. No need though. I decided to bite the bullet and buy a cheap sight they had there. Always good to have a back up. Actually not too bad. 4-pin all aluminum with a light, $30. The 29 pins suck past 30 yards (I am used to 10s) but I'm all sighted in out to 50.

Update. Got my sight back Thursday. Finally got a chance to put it on today. I noticed Thursday they forgot the yardage indicator pin. Not a huge deal I called them Friday and I have one coming. Meanwhile I shoot a 3 pin head so I'm still good for hunting.

I go out today and make sure it is still good. First shot at 5 yards is a foot high and foot left. I see they had the adjustment holes one off and put it back. As I m going through I notice the actual dovetail bar is bent. How I missed and they missed that I don't know but the saga continues. I'll call them tomorrow and see what they say about that.
