I know everyone is at different levels, bag limits & experience. Just curious, do you take pictures of or with every deer you shoot? I snap a couple pics of every deer, but anymore these days I only get in the pic if its a nice buck. I've also been hunting 30 years.
I get a picture with the deer if I have some one to take it regardless if it has antlers or not. Most of the time I'm by myself so I just snap some pics of it as it lays, I don't try to prop it up or anything.
Of course, great way to remember hunts. I waterfowl hunt a lot and regardless of shooting one bird or 20 birds, I take pictures every time.
every harvested animal, deer, turkey, however many doves, pheasant, or whatever the animal is, yes. It is part tradition, part memory saver, part almost honoring the animal, don't get me wrong I'm not some animals rights hippy, but I think to some extent we should honor the life we took, which also includes using as much of it as possible
I usually take a picture or video mainly because I'm in a hunt filming group. But even when I wasn't I would. I also keep a journal of my hunting seasons. I don't write everything. Usually just the story around when, where, and how I harvested the animal. Then I draw a little sketch of what the scene looked like. I'm no artist but I enjoy doodling how I will remember it. It will be cool someday to look back through someday.
Yes, for a multitude of reasons. Most notably to send to friends/family and to have for our super awesome Deer Hunting Contest.
I do. While they may not always be the best due to time or personnel, I still like to have a photo to remember it by.
I generally hunt with a couple more people, so I take a picture and send to them right away. If I am hunting alone, I still take a picture to at least send to my Wife if no one else.
So far yes I have but I've only hunted for about 7 years total. If it's a meat buck, I probably won't going forward unless it's for the contest.
....and those that take pictures take them wrong and don't have them set up all nice and pretty.... I take pictures with my deer - but I've only shot four in my lifetime...so....
Many of the pics I have seen are meant to celebrate the person in the pic and not the deer or the event.
Well, yeah. Aren't we celebrating our accomplishment? If I just wanted to celebrate how beautiful a deer is I can do that with a camera alone. You don't often see a photo of a medal or trophy without the person who won it.
