Goal 1: kill a pig with my bow. Goal 2: shoot a pig in the face with my bow. Goal 1 7:00 Saturday even, shoot her in the neck at 9yrds. Ran about 60-70yrds & piled up. Found her after my Sunday morning hunt. Goal 2 6:00 Sunday morning heard the pigs headed my way. Worried about them eating all my hand corn, had to figure something out quickly. Took my head light put it on my calf, move my leg around till I light them up at 22yrds, picked the biggest one & THWACK!!! That all I heard other than the other pigs running off. Of course nothing else came in that morning.
It's legal to hunt wild pigs at night in the three states where I hunt because their a nuisance. I assume it is the same where he is. In Alabama they went so far as to make night vision scopes and silencers legal for them.
I can understand the goal of shooting a pig (congrats)....but shooting a pig in the face?! That just sounds awful.
Congrats on the successful hunt. However, I wouldn't post those photos on other social media. The picture of a pig with an arrow in the face will get the antis' riled up. As hunters, we need to be conscious of how our images and stories influence those who do not hunt. We do not want the non-hunting majority of society to vote and take away our hunting privileges because we poorly represented the hunting community. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You WANT to shoot a animal in the face?.....sad. Then you come here and brag it up......Really? No wonder the antis keep it up. I have enjoyed your post up until this one.
As an example of poor shot choices? How about he just gets a full body mount with the arrow sticking out of the pig's head. That would be super sweet, right?! not
Ok, I have taken does with a rifle in the head to preserve all 4 quarters but shooting an animal in the face just to do it???? That's some $hit serial killers do to their pets when they are kids. Even if you have that mindset, why would you post it on social media? Do you think people are going to agree with you, that it was a good idea? I could even understand if it was a bad shot, but to set a goal like that and then post pics of it, you need some counseling in my opinion.
I'm guessing the statement about it being a goal was a joke, when shooting in the dark at pests aim between the eyes I understand the whole "don't rub it in the anti's faces" but come on guys, lets not crucify this guy for making a semi light hearted post about a clean kill he made on a nuisance animal
, See, you're guessing it was a joke, but he hasn't said that, and he made light of it by posting the pics...
What's a nuisance animal? I know whitetails are considered a nuisance animal in many suburbs. All animals should be harvested with respect. Nuisance labels can be put on anything.
