Poor guy, he must've needed major surgery to pull that GIGANTIC horseshoe out of his rear end. Amazing story, amazing buck.
That's a great buck that guy killed, but I wouldn't have wanted that to be my first bow kill. I'd never look at hunting the same way again. I have enjoyed the years of learning and working my way up from shooting spikes (when they were legal) to letting smaller, but legal bucks walk, in hopes of killing something worth mounting. Looking forward to an encounter with a buck like that is what keeps us going out there year after year. jmo
Meh...JK I would love to kill a buck like that but I think I agree with early in about killing that as his first deer.
Guy was too much of a rookie to know he should have been all worked up and miss the shot.....good for him!
Amazing story. I really do believe that those who are passionate about hunting and the outdoors will always be out there. His father in law was with him for sure.
Nice deer and shot placement for first time as well. Been at it a while and I would have a problem even drawing back on that monster.
I agree with this, but the anticipation, the anticipation of killing that monster buck that we all feel on every hunt will be nonexistent for that fellow. He has an extremely slim chance of killing a bigger buck. As I mentioned, I wouldn't have wanted that to be my first buck.
