Can't decide on which jacket to get. I like the wind stop of the stratus but I also like the thicker material and the kangaroo pocket of the fanatic light. Which one would be better all around jacket?

To me the stratus is a little thicker than the fanatic lite.

The fanatic lite picks up less burrs, is better at shedding lite rain and the kangaroo pouch is great. Both jackets weigh just about the same. Both are pretty quiet. The Stratus is easier to put on and take off, especially 20 feet in the air.

I would always go with windstopper of the Stratus...it is way more versatile of a piece in a layering system
I personally chose to go stratus then have other pieces like fanatic hoodie and vest to kayer as needed.

I took a different approach. I use the fanatic lite and then layer a stratus vest under it if it's windy. I like the material better on the fanatic lite however I think the warmth to weight ratio is better on the Stratus. Most likely a non issue for whitetail hunting anyway.

The piece I miss most is the stratus bibs. They were perfect for me in very cold temps with my fanatic jacket over the. The fanatic bibs are just too warm for me...

I am getting ready to place my first Sitka order so this is interesting. I am planning on getting the Fanatic jacket and bibs for colder hunting. Has anyone used the Equinox jacket and bibs for early season? Any recommendations for early season set?

They came out with fanatic lite bibs this year. I bought a set, they are nice.

I use the Equinox pants, but not the jacket. For warm weather top I just wear the base layers. If the temps will drop much for the evening I pack the heavyweight zip tee or the shacket in with me. The equinox jacket seems a waste to me.

If you were looking to get what you needed from early season through late season what pieces would you buy?

I thought the same. I went with the Stratus. I have both the jacket and vest to have options. Windproof is also very important to me.

    I was thinking of getting

A couple of the core lightweight LS
    Core merino set
    Fanatic Hoody
    Fanatic Jacket
    Equinox pants
Was thinking Fanatic pants but now thinking Stratus pants

Anything that is a must add or is there anything that I shouldn't get from the list?

If you were to get the status pants rather than the fanatic bib, I'd likely say get the stratus jacket and the fanatic vest rather than the fanatic jacket. More versital this way.

However, it is more difficult to layer under the status pants than the bibs.

Also, I put my outer layers on at my tree, packing them in. You must remove your boots to put the status pants on, with the bibs you do not have to as they have full length leg zippers. Not sure if that applies to you or not.

It is hard to make accurate suggestions without knowing how you will be using the gear.

You have no cold weather head protection on your list.

I had a pair here. I am on the fence with them. Same with my fanatic bibs which are to warm for me.

Like I mentioned above, it is hard to give accurate suggestions without knowing how you will be using the gear. I hunt areas that are a mile and more deep in rugged topography, I also hunt pancake flat land that I only walk 1/4 mile in. Also, suggestions would change based on if you do 3 hour sits or all day sits etc.

    2cents.

I bought one of the frantic jackets with the diagonal zipper and it great when it's zipped up but if it warms up and you need to wear it unzipped it's odd. One side is short and the other very long.
    I sent it back.
