Hey I am wondering what type of binos you guys use. I had some 12 x 42 bushnells. They just didnt get the job done. Im looking for a little better. anyone got some ideas in the 50-70 dollar range or around there?
I went from 10x42 to 10x28 for the size. Just got some Bushnell Trophy (not the Trophy XLT) series and I think they are super nice for the price. I got them directly from Bushnell because I broke mine and sent them in for repairs. Got them for $63 after the discount and they have a great warranty. unfortunately, even decent glass is gonna cost you at least a couple hundred dollars on the lower end of decent. Average decent pair is in the $500-$700 range and upper end is thousands. Do yourself a favor. Keep using the cheap pair you have and save up. Vortex, Nikon, Leupold, all make models that you can catch on sale for around a couple hundred $. There are things that make sense to pinch pennies on, glass is not one of them
IMO, the best glass for the money are the Leupold Cascades....They'll run you $300, but are much better than most binos that cost nearly twice as much. You can sometimes find them on sale cheaper, and a rebate here and there. If you aren't going to spend at least $200, don't bother...
inexpensive binos vary a lot in quality and the worse ones will make your eyeballs ache after a short period of glassing. also some of those little folding ones are out of alignment and will give a slightly split view. realizing not everyone's budget will support a couple hundred bucks for binos, recommend looking through them before buying for clarity and alignment or make sure you can return them if they aren't.
I have Vortex Diamondbacks like shown above. For stand hunting I love them, and even used them last December for glassing on my Coues hunt. Also, I used the Vortex warranty when one eye piece froze up and broke. No questions asked, sent them an email saying I needed them back in 2 weeks. Had a brand new pair within a week. Forever a Vortex customer. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
