Not to get too philosophical but I think a lot of hunters forget that hunting is truly a privilege not a God given right. In this crazy world we live in, it is something that can be taken from us in the blink of an eye. It is all of our duty and responsibility to be the best we can be, too represent what we do to the highest level possible. As a former collegiate athlete I know all to well the value of practice and that no matter what you are doing there is always someone out there working hard to get where you are. Whether you are New to bow hunting or a seasoned vet, remember you can always be better than you were the day before. Every night for the past 2 months, after I get home from the gym I force myself to shoot 50 times before I go in, most of the time I end up going more because I'm never satisfied with the last group haha. I always try to just be better than I was the day before, remember all the work you put in comes down to a few key moments in a season. Make sure you are at your best when it counts the most for a clean, ethical kill so that future generations can enjoy this passion as well! I'll get off my soap box now. God Bless! Well said Corey. Practice makes better and that is a very good philosophy for bow hunting and life in general. Good luck this season!
Very true but I think it's personal ethic on how humanly you fill your freezer. Dead is dead and I'd really love to see a movie/documentary reminding the world how humans and all creatures alive today have remained in existence. Animal, plant or microorganism, in order for any of them to service something has to die and it's always been that way and will always be that way. Just had a non hunter give me a crack about killing a feral hog over a feeder last weekend and I had the ask him how ethical was the way he scouted the last restaurant his family's had their steak dinner at? Or how much time did he spend stalking up in the freezer section at the grocery store before he picked out his last frozen turkey? Does he lease and get up before sunrise to sit on stand all day when ever HE wants a ham sandwich? Many people today are so spoiled and out of touch with reality that they never give it a 2nd thought about how they've nourish their body their hole life. And yes. I was one of those pathetic fools. I mentioned ethically along the lines make sure you actually are gonna put the animal down. I've hunted my whole life but just got my bow last year. I made the personal decision to put off bow hunting till this year because I simply wasn't comfortable with my shooting consistency. Spent the last year working at it and i don't know if ill ever go back to a rifle. Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
Agreed. I don't let myself even think about what I'll do with the animal after the kill until I have that perfect shot. I focus on that single shot and nothing else. The animal is not mine till I get that shot off. Kilboars Hunt Club
Ok let me rephrase, it is a right that human institutions can strip away if they so choose. It is important to carry yourself in a way that preserves that right because unfortunately there are crazy people on both sides of the fence Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
Luckily I live in a state that is actively working to insure that can't happen. BTW I have zero doubt this bill / amendment passes Kansas Right to Hunt and Fish, Constitutional Amendment 1 (2016) - Ballotpedia
Meanwhile in my state nit wit celebrities and sports teams are refusing to enter the state for our stand on certain issues. Its good to see there are still good places in the world Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
