For those who hunt Public land, roughly how many acres are available to you? I have about 1500 acres.

    In the whole state?

Within a half hour of my house I'm guessing about 8,000+ acres on a total on 5 WMAs. Much more if I drive an hour away.

Here in MO it just depends on how far we want to drive.

Man I'd love to spend a week in Iowa bowhunting on public land. I'd set up a tent and be happy as could be.

    Over a million nearby.

I only hunt about 1500-2000 of it, but it's mostly to myself :tu:

Same for IL its just how far you're willing to go. I have 3 places with at least 45 minutes of me that Ill be hunting the most. Those 3 combined its about 8,000 acres. Pretty similar in the huntable acreage.

If I drive the atv from my house, I can get to around 100,000 acres. There's well over a million nearby but I'd need more gas. :)

It's the high desert, so you do need to look at quite a bit of property.

Not sure how much public land. Quite a bit though. I have about 2000 private acres to hunt and that's what I usually stick too for deer. For now anyway.... May venture out more soon to the public sector.

I hunt a 200 acre tract here in Iowa. Not sure if I could find anything near the tens of thousands you guys are talking about....

I hunt three different tracts here in North Carolina. The smallest is 1200 acres. The one I hunt the most is 50,500 acres. I also hunt in the mountains on a 510,000 acre tract.

Most of my hunting is on a 15,000 acre tract of state land, and I also hunt some on a bit of national forest that's about 150,000

Wisconsin definitely needs more land. I can't find a quality 100 acres without 40 hunters on it.
