This was a buck me and my closest hunting compadre hunted for a couple years. He had been seeing him in transition from crp/ bedding area on his way to a remote foodplot on neighbors property. I had a few encounters with him on stand but , like he knew I was there, he skirted me every time. Staying 60-80 yds out. Played me like a cheap piano.... My buddy finally rattled him in the last week of October. Beautiful buck and beautiful mount. I was just as happy to get that phone call and help drag him out. Anyway he finally got it up on a wall.
Yes it was. We had such a great time that season. We lost that piece of property which sucks. It was a golden little 40 acre chunk that was just prime habitat. Between the neighbors and us I think we killed 4 nice bucks on 60 acres total.
I think that was a reflection coming off the open storm door. but it is a real cool looking cape regardless. I like the way the ears are positioned. So many ears are made so equal like a mirror image. The way the deers left ear is kinda bent back adds alot of realism.
Thanks everyone. I can't take credit but just wanted to share the pic and story. I had my bow in my hand on this guy but he never got closer than 60yds. I'm glad it went the way it did cause my buddy hunted him harder than I did.
