How often is everyone checking there cameras? I've had mine out for almost 2 weeks on a new property and the anxiety is killing me. My other spot I can go in every other week and not worry about spooking deer it's a high traffic area with land owner always in there cutting wood and some relatives walking the logging roads.
I check once a week but I could check every day and the deer would not mind, unless of course I didn't bring feed then they might get a little pissed. Yes bucks still come they don't care either.
I wait at least two weeks. I prefer to wait a month if I can during the pre-season. I base my locations on winter and early summer scouting so I can limit my intrusion in the woods as much as possible.
Seeing that it's a new property I would check them every 2 wks until you get the property scouted. Take good routes to your cameras and practice good scent control
Depends on the spot. Anywhere from daily to monthly. I like every two weeks, but its been closer to monthly this year.
Some of the ones I have on field edges around home I check weekly, further spots at least 2 weeks and up to a month.
Went and checked just some does and fawns but I still like the spots. Taking cameras to other property. Thanks for everybody's input.
Makes sense. I don't put mine out until right before the seed ticks take over in August, then I check them after a rain to see what's on the ground around what's on camera in the same area, then I'm done for the food pattern sets. Caveat; this is not advice: I never shoot big bucks. Never have got a good bowshot at one since '87.
