Awesome article, and definitely very inspiring! I have always viewed physical condition as such an important part of being an outdoorsman. I'm just coming off of my second ACL reconstruction surgery so I'm taking this as a little extra motivation to not have any excuses for being ready by October 1st.

Having lost 100lbs in the last year, I really identify with this article and the writer. I have no plans for running any marathons but I do have plans to stay healthy as long as I can. This seems to be so much more important when you are on the north side of 60. And like the writer, the weight loss has opened up the whole world for me. I can do more, last longer, and not worry about whether I'll will have enough endurance to finish any task. No, it wasn't easy when I was going through it but it is definitely worth it now.

    Blessings........Pastorjim

It is amazing how much it makes a difference. Throughout the years I've been in and out of shape. So much easier when you are in good physical shape.
