Great Article! I wonder why you don't see Brenda Valentine much anymore.

great read...but I'm curious why it says Fred Eichler was the first to fill a super slam with a recurve...Didn't Fred Bear do that?

Fred Bear shot a lot of animals but he never completed a super slam, at least not on record if he did. According to this article, Rick Duggan was actually the first with a recurve in 2007. Eichler's was in 2009.

I am also not sure I would call Waddell a legend like the article does lol.

    ahh...ok

As far as Waddell, personally I share the same sentiment, BUT, he is almost solely responsible for changing the hunting industry. The popularity of Road trips and later Bone collector opened the floodgates for all the Waddell wannabes. He started the the new era of hunting shows. The impact he has made on the hunting industry as a whole (not all bad) I would say qualifies him as a legend.

Wow, I forgot all about her too. I haven't seen her at all in years.

Kinda surprised Fred Bear or Tom Miranda didn't at least make the list.

    No Drury love?

Ill admit that Mark & Terry were the sole reason i started filming hunts in 2007ish. Those guys were my idols. They've killed more world class deer than pretty much anyone in the industry.

And got pinched for having mineral rock in a food plot. And, claimed residency in Iowa while raising families in Missouri. Most of the "legends" of today have plenty of baggage.

What the legends have done, is turn an activity that used to be privately enjoyed by friends and family into a commercialized, competitive "sport" for the wealthy.

I'm not sure about the mineral thing. But Iowa has a rediculous law about minerals that leaves a lot to interpretation. Terry lives in Missouri. Mark lives in Iowa. Ive been to his house. He just sold his house inside town a few months ago and built onrtin the country by one of his farms. Terry gets a governors tag every year as a nonresident

I know too much about it to go on. But, lets just say that "living" here to get tags is a law that has been extensively abused. I will leave it at that.

While the list is arguable I am very happy that who ever wrote the article did not include Ted Nugent.

Neither am I. But, I'm not making a living off my name. That kind of opens the door to scrutiny.
