Interested to see how many of you have a backup plan when it comes to hunting. Say something were to break on your bow or your sight got knocked around.. How many of you have an extra bow or an extra sight or string whatever it may be? Doesn't even have to be a bow it can be backup clothes or whatever! Do you have a backup plan or would you just rush to the store to get a new one? For me if something were to happen to my bow i would probably use my crossbow. I take it with me on every trip for that just in case factor. Clothes wise or equipment wise say like a grunt call or boots or whatever.. I'd probably just run up to the store to grab.

Most guys have back ups for the back ups. Almost no one would stay w one bow but we all started out that way

I have back up strings and cables, every thing else I can get or have done at my local bow shop.

I never understood the backup bow or the other high priced backups. A freak accident is just that. If you find yourself needing backups a lot then you should probably look at how you treat your gear or how you organize it.

Having said that, I bought a bow press for the house so I can avoid some of those in-season problems.

Hunting in Alaska or some other BFE trip is a different story. Two is one and one is none.

I've got a 2006 Bear Instinct as a backup. No backup accessories though.

The backup is the credit card. Anytime I get anything new I try to sell the old stuff.

I don't really have a backup plan but will always triple check my gear before I head on my trip.
One time I trekked all the way to my stand hunted all morning, went full draw on a doe, looked through my peep sight and it was gone. Turned out if flew out the last time I had shot so I let down and watched her walk away.
I will forever triple check everything.

If something breaks and I can't get it from a local shop I can have it here next day air from just about any website in the world. The only time I would really consider having a bunch of backup gear would be on a long pack-in type trip where getting spare parts quickly isn't an option.

I agree. I was keeping a completely set up back up bow but now I just keep a complete set of strings (so I don't have to wait a week) and that's about it.

I have a traditional bow if needed. I could also switch my sight over to my old compound and retune and I'd be good to go.

Exactly. I put down the compound and use the CB for late season, especially if it's cold.

Not me. I've got one of everything I need. If I find myself breaking/losing something then I buy a replacement or get it fixed. If it means a week or two out of the woods then so be it. That just gives me an excuse to switch over to goose for a while or spend longer hours farming.

I think my wife would kill me if I had a "back up bow". I can only imagine the "back up" stuff she would start to buy.

I used to but eventually stopped once I decided I had too much miscellaneous crap laying around. I do keep a spare release in my truck in the event I forget it. I also have rangefinder binos and a hand held rangefinder.

My son shoots a PSE Bow Madness 30 I think. He is at college about 90 % of the season, so I guess that is my back-up plan. Just don't tell him!!!!
