After shoulder surgery a few years back, I have now decided to get off the 60-62 lb pull club and move back up. Currently pulling 64-66, ultimate goal is back to 70. Shoot three weeks then crank it up another lb or two. done this twice and so far no shoulder pain. Old man needs to get back into the game after my last three dismal years !!!!

Im the opposite. I am pulling 70lbs pretty easy but want to move down. The next bow I buy is gonna be a 50-60lb bow cranked up to 60. I want to preserve my shoulders.

good luck with the journey back to 70. I likely have a few years on you and after my surgery had lighter limbs put on and stopped at 55. plenty of power for what I hunt and hopefully save the shoulder.

It is more for building up the shoulder than anything. Figure If I can shoot and hold 70, then cranking back down to mid 60's and holding at full draw for longer will be a benefit.

I've been shooting 50-60# for the last 4 years.. and the arrows are passing though, just as they did at 60-70#. Wish you luck on the shoulder rehab, though!

I tore both rotator cuffs. Actually have crazy injuries but wouldn't let Dr cut me. At one point my shoulder was hanging n I couldn't pick up my 2 year old. Well she's 13 now, I'm 48 n back to almost 70, I dont know why guess it's the meat head in me. Used to shoot 90 lb compound n 75 lb recurve, why idk.
Be careful shoulder injuries suck. Last time I hurt it, it sounded like jeans tearing, after that happened 3 times in a row while lifting I stopped. Needed some chick to help me get off shirt. It's all stupid. Shoot a comfortable weight. Wish I could. Guess I dont wanna let the old man in

Torn rotator cuff here and the surgery repair that I need would require 6 months in a sling before rehab could begin. Since I work with my hands, (construction) I can't afford the down time, financially or mentally. I dropped back to 60 pounds several years ago and have found that animals still tip over and don't get up, so I am happy. I do play with 60+ during the summer but last fall I hunted at 57# and had no problems hunting.

Never had a shoulder issue but I shot 70# for years and just backed down to 60# this year and I'm shooting the best I ever have. Good luck with whichever route you go!

I can easily pull 50 and at one point I as shooting a little over 50. I now shoot 40 pounds. Ive killed 4 deer with 4 arrows in the last 2 years with 40 lbs. I can shoot out to 30 yards. So why change? I found that when shooting target, my arms tired faster with 50 and I could hit the mark either way. I can see myself cranking it up at some point but I'm in no hurry.

Hope it works out for you, after having both my shoulders surgically repaired, there is no way i could move up one ounce!! 60#s is perfect for me, God Bless.

I am doing this to build the shoulder and upper body back to pre-surgery and for giving me the strength to hold longer if needed. Once I hit 70 and pull that a few weeks I will back off to low to mid 60's. I can already tell this is working, shoot my Bear Agenda 6 a few rounds at roughly 68 lb, then I shoot my Bear Method at 61 lb. I now find it easier to hold the Bear Method on target longer than I could before.
